This contemporary adaptation of an indigenous Huichol teaching tale is illustrated with traditional yarn drawings by Huichol artisans. Isolated in the Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico, the Huichol have retained their culture and spiritual traditions. The story tells how young Tunuri gets lost in the woods and meets the magical Blue Deer - a messenger between the mortal and spirit worlds - who introduces him to Father Sun, Mother Earth and others in the natural world, while leading him back to his family. For ages 6-9.
