Indra Sharma was born in 1923 in the small town of Nathdwara, Rajasthan. Following in his family's tradition, he began painting at the age of ten. He later graduated from the Sir JJ School of Arts in Mumbai. Sharma combines contemporary and traditional artistic elements. Remaining humble and devoted to his faith and profession, he creates icons of Hindu Gods and Goddesses that are altars of worship for millions.
